ABOUT THE SUPPLEMENT: You should have received with this copy

IF YOU ARE HAVING TROUBLE:
Minimum RAM Requirements to run the software
The software requires 500K of RAM to run. If you do
not have 500K free, see section 4.5.1 of the Getting Started
Booklet and follow the instructions to "Optimize Your Current
RAM."
Stealth Option in QEMM
Some incompatibilities have been identified while using
the stealth Option in QEMM and EMM 386. If you encounter
any problems, turn off the Stealth option or MSDOS's High Scan
Option. For more information about these issues, see section
4.2 of the Getting Started Booklet.
Run Reuters MONEY Network Faster
There are a number of options to speed up Smart
Investor. See section 4.9 of the Getting Started
Booklet for more information.

-stop Remove BTRIEVE from Memory
-DMM/DD/YY Set BYPASS date
-nopre Disable Auto-Recovery for BTR files
-log logFileName Tech Support Logging File
Code Overlay Manager Controls... ("BLINKER" variable)
/ooN = Conventional Memory To Use N=(default=28K Bytes)
/opN = Use EMS Page Frame to execute code N=(0=disable,1=ENABLE)
/ouN = Use Upper Memory for Overlay Kernel N=(0=disable,1=ENABLE)
/CEnnn,nnn = Amount of EMS To Use and leave (default=256,90%)
/CXnnn,nnn = Amount of XMS To Use and leave (default=256,90%)
(example: set blinker=/oo80/ou0/CX512,50%)

rtcc = Number of File Definitions to Buffer (default=5)
rtcg = Number of Files to Buffer (default=2)
rtcm = Size of Buffers for Files (default=7168)
rtcb = Total Memory DEMANDED by System (default=60(K Bytes))
rtlm = Memory to leave unused (default=17(K Bytes))
loadhi = Command prefix for loading TSRs HIGH (default=NONE)
For DOS 5.0 users: set loadhi=lh
For QEMM users: set loadhi=loadhi

Reading This File
To read this file online, one screen at a time, type the
following, at the DOS prompt in the INVESTOR directory:
TYPE README.TXT | MORE
You can print each screen by pressing <Shift><PrtSc> while
you are viewing the screen.
If you are connected directly to a printer, you can print the
whole file at once; at the C:\> prompt, type:
PRINT README.TXT and press <Enter> twice.
If you are not connected directly to a printer, or the above
directions do not work, read the file into your word
processor and then print it from there.
